The Rocky Hill Country Day School varsity golf team competed in a challenging tri-match against STM and CATS this week, falling 3-1-1 to STM and 4-1 to CATS. Despite the tough results, RHCD saw several standout performances throughout the afternoon. Playing in the top spot, Cole Preston ’28 (East Greenwich, RI) delivered the highlight of the match against STM with a dominant 7-2 victory, while Mason Cordle ’27 (Warwick, RI) battled to a hard-earned 4.5-4.5 tie. Teresa Chen ’28 (East Greenwich, RI) also turned in an impressive round, carding a team-low 47 on the day.
In the matchup against CATS, Patrick O’Hara ’27 (East Greenwich, RI) earned RHCD’s lone victory, edging out his opponent 5-4 in a tightly contested match. The Mariners continued to show growth and resilience against strong competition, with several players gaining valuable experience in pressure situations. As the season progresses, RHCD will look to build on these individual successes and continue improving as a team with the league championship around the corner.
