The Mariners Drove to Dublin to Play the Wildcats on a Rainy Saturday, Coming Home with a Strong League Victory

Attack was on fire this game. Ella Wearmouth ’29 (East Greenwich, RI) scored 4 goals and had an assist, a career high in points! Charlotte McGinn ’29 (Exeter, RI) also had a great game, scoring twice and mixing in some defense and midfield. Lucy Wilhelm ‘29 (North Kingston, RI) continues to have great looks, notching an assist and grabbing 4 ground balls. Maia Tsafos ’28 (Saunderstown, RI) is a standout defender in transition, scooping 4 ground balls for the Mariners. Nazare Phipps ’28 (East Greenwich, RI) hustled hard on attack and got off good shots.
Izabella Macari ’26 (Warwick, RI) and Chelsea Clements ’28 (East Greenwich, RI) continue to work off each other in low defense. Macari was able to play some attack this game as well, scoring a goal and having 3 assists. Macari picked up 5 ground balls while Clements had 2. Alex Martini ’29 (North Kingstown, RI) played defense and midfield, having great clears up the field and recording a draw control and 4 ground balls. Maria Phipps ’28 (East Greenwich, RI) rotated through the top defender positions stopping fast breaks and played some midfield. M. Phipps had a great look for an assist, 5 ground balls, and a draw control.

Midfield ran hard, Captain Annalisa Gomes ’27 (Harrisville, RI) continued to hustle to ground balls, picking up 11 and also controlling the draw for 7 draw controls. Gomes came away with 7 goals and 2 assists this game. Senior Captain Maddie Ruzzo ’26 (West Greenwich, RI) had 6 goals and 2 assists, continuing to dominate in the circle and recording 8 draw controls. Ruzzo and Gomes work well together, connecting on passes and motion offenses.
Angel Pogson ’27 (Warwick, RI) kept clear stats and cheered us on!
The Mariners head into the final week of the regular season and play LCA at home for senior night. 4:30 on 5/6.
