9/18/19 – Girls Varsity Field Hockey @ Cranston East HS

Charlotte Boss – 4 goals

Varsity Field Hockey had a great game this past Wednesday on turf against Cranston East. With an early goal by Charlotte Boss, the Mariners were able to continue the scoring momentum throughout the game, with a total of four goals scored by Charlotte Boss, one goal scored by Sara Laurent and one goal scored by Katie Kerachsky. The game ended 6-0. Goals were assisted by Francesca McCaughey, Rachel Arabian, and Eve Weiner. Taylor Cote had two saves in goal.

9/12/19 – Girls Varsity Field Hockey v Pilgrim HS

Genevieve Bradley & Taylor Cote – 16 combined saves

Varsity Field Hockey had an intense game this past Thursday against Pilgrim High School. The two evenly matched and long-standing rivals played a fast-paced game which ended in a 1-1 tie after 10 minutes of overtime. RHCD goal was scored by Eve Weiner and assisted by Charlotte Boss. Genevieve Bradley and Taylor Cote had a combined 16 saves in goal.

9/10/19 – Girls Varsity Field Hockey v Classical HS

Genevieve Bradley – Shutout!

The Varsity Field Hockey Team had a great first home game against Classical on Tuesday. With an early lead, the team was able to practice their communication, ball movement, and defensive skills. Rookie goalie Genevieve Bradley had a shutout in her first varsity game. The game ended 4-0 with an exciting victory for the Mariners.

9/3/19 – Girls Varsity Field Hockey @ Woonsocket HS

Sinead Burnett – 2 goals

The Girls Varisty Field Hockey Team had an amazing first game against Woonsocket on Tuesday. After being down in the first half, the team motivated during half time and came out strong in the second half- scoring five unanswered goals. Goals were scored by Eve Weiner, Sydney Boss, Jordan Lanowy, and Sinead Burnett, with two goals. The game ended 5-1 with an exciting first victory for the Mariners.

8/29/19 – Girls Varsity Field Hockey @ Bay View Academy Scrimmage


RHS 0, Bay View 0 – both scrimmages
RHS 2, Bay View JV 0 – final scrimmage
Francesca McCaughey & Sydney Boss – 1 goal each

RHCD played three exciting scrimmages against St. Mary Academy- Bay View on Thursday. The first two scrimmages both ended 0-0 with five shots on goal and four offensive corners in the second scrimmage. In the third scrimmage, which was against their JV team, some of our younger players got to showcase their skills and beat Bay View 2-0. Goals were scored by Francesca McCaughey and Sydney Boss, assisted by Sydney Boss and Rachel Arabian.

8/24/19 – Girls Varsity Field Hockey vs RIIL Injury Fund Tournament

Injury Fund, 8/24 – Rocky Hill vs. Tollgate
2-0 Win
Jordan Lanowy scored the first goal with an assist from Sinead Burnett
Charlotte Boss recorded a goal with an assist from Francesca McCaughey

In the first 20 minute game of Injury Fund, the Mariners hit the ground running. With four corners, the players held possession and executed 8 shots on Tollgate’s goalkeeper.

Sydney Boss scored the goal from Charlotte Boss’ assist

Since Cranston East did not have a goalkeeper, Taylor Cote and Genevine Bradley both played in goal and switched at the 10 minute mark. Taylor Cote recorded 5 saves and Genevine Bradley recorded 3 saves.

Injury Fund, 8/24 – Rocky Hill vs. Tiverton
0-2 loss
Five players recorded a total of 6 shots on Tiverton’s goal

The Rocky Hill Field Hockey Team put up quite the fight against Tiverton. We had two offensive corners and no defensive corners.

10/30/18 – Girls Varsity Field Hockey v Classical – State Quarterfinal

Mariners Defeat Classical, Move On To State Semifinals

  • RHS 3, Classical 2
  • Charlotte Boss 2g, 1a; Faythe Schulte 1g, 1a
  • Natalie Wilson successfully defended a stroke

Rocky Hill defeated Classical in the RIIL State Quarterfinal matchup.  Keeper Taylor Cote recorded 2 saves and Natalie Wilson recorded 4, including one penalty stroke.  All three Mariner goals were scored off penalty corners.  This victory keeps Rocky Hill alive in the playoffs, heading to LaSalle Academy to face Tollgate on Thursday!

10/25/18 – Girls’ Field Hockey v Woonsocket

Rocky Hill Scores Big on Senior Day

The Mariners pulled off a win in their senior game against conference opponents Woonsocket.  Honored before the game were seniors Bri Harter, Jaylene Lanzot, Chloe Ponte, and Faythe Schulte.  Both Rocky Hill keepers got in on the action, with Taylor Cote grabbing a save and Natalie Wilson collecting five.

 

10/23/18 – Girls’ Varsity Field Hockey @ Tollgate

Mariners Fall to Tollgate

  • Chloe Ponte scored the Rocky Hill goal.
    The Varsity Field Hockey Team played a resilient game against Toll Gate on 10/23 which ended in a 1-2 loss. Unfortunately, this hard-fought game broke the five consecutive wins. Goalkeeper Taylor Cote recorded a shutout and five saves, and Natalie Wilson recorded four saves.
    The Varsity Field Hockey Team will celebrate their senior players in a senior game at home on 10/25!

 

10/19/18 – Varsity Field Hockey v Pilgrim

Varsity Field Hockey Blanks Pilgrim

  • Mariners won 2-0 against Pilgrim, the highest ranking team in our division
  • Faythe Schulte 1 g; Charlotte Boss 1 g; 1 a

The Field Hockey Team won in a captivating game against Pilgrim with seven players putting shots on goal. Natalie Wilson recorded five saves in goal and a shutout. This game was the 5th consecutive win for RHS Varsity Field Hockey this season.

“Momentum is building!” said Coach Fairchild.  “Such a great game and full team effort.”

Rocky Hill travels to play Tollgate next Tuesday.
