Mariners Step it up in Second Half to Pull Away From Wildcats in Important SENE Victory

ROCKY HILL – 13, DUBLIN – 4

The Mariners improve to 3-2 on the season at home against the Wildcats on Saturday, April 20th.

Ariana Hernandez ’25 (Cranston, RI) had 4 saves in net for the Mariners.

The Mariners dominated draw control, going 18 for 21 against the Wildcats’ circle unit with Captain Jeremi Morrison ’24 (East Greenwich, RI) credited for 15, Izabella Macari ’26 (Warwick, RI) credited for 2, and Annalisa Gomes ’27 (Harrisville, RI) credited for 1.

Five players found the back of the net for the Mariners. Emma Morrison ’28 (East Greenwich, RI) had 5 goals for the Mariners. Kaileigh Kelleher ’25 (Cranston, RI) had 3 goals and 2 assists. Maddie Ruzzo ’26 (West Greenwich, RI) had 2 goals and 2 assists. J. Morrison had 2 goals. Captain Hadley Wheeler ’24 (Saunderstown, RI) had 1 goal and 1 assist, and Captain Elizabeth Howard ’24 (Saunderstown, RI) had an assist.

Macari led the ground ball effort with 5, followed by Ruzzo with 4. Howard and E. Morrison had 3 ground balls each. Captain Mackenzie Carney ’24 (East Greenwich, RI), Wheeler, and Gomes each had a pair of ground balls.

E. Morrison led in caused turnovers with 3, followed by a caused turnover each by Katie O’Neil ’25 (Warwick, RI) and Gomes. Abby Millard ’27 (East Greenwich, RI) and O’Neil were standouts on defense for the Mariners.

The Mariners look to make it three in a row away against St. Andrew’s on Wednesday April 24th at 4:00 pm.
