Parents as Learners…
Gain insight into your child’s social-emotional and academic experiences.

You have heard us refer to it often, so how would you respond to the question,
What is the Responsive Classroom Approach?

Mindful Moment…
Mindfulness has found a positive, peaceful, and valuable niche within our Lower School community.
According to Kindergarten teacher, Sarah Marcus:
“Kindergarten has been practicing mindfulness by incorporating yoga, stretching between classes, going for nature hikes to watch the leaves change color, visiting the waterfront and reading mindful books, like Silence. We talk about taking deep breaths to make our bodies calm in class. We have a “peaceful center”, (designed by classmate, Sorrel), where students can use the glitter jar or select a few yoga cards. We also decided to have a Peace Ambassador on our job chart, who will run the peaceful center and morning meditation. We like to take kindergarten one deep breath at a time.”
