Next Week’s News! 10/6/17

Hello all!

I hope you are all geared up for the long weekend! As a reminder, we are closed Monday for First People’s/Columbus Day.
We had a very productive Fire Safety Week and a wonderful visit from the Warwick Fire Department. I’m sure your children came home talking about 9-1-1 and spouting terms like “Get out and stay out!”, and “Stop. Drop and roll.” I hope you took this week to set up a fire escape plan at home and practice.
Next week is Spirit Week in preparation for Homecoming on October 14th. Show your Rocky Hill Spirit!
Tuesday is Fan Day! This can be any kind of fan, not just sports.
Wednesday is P.J. Day
Thursday is Farm Day
Friday is Blue and White Day
Next week we will also begin to look at the changing seasons and what “Fall” means. The books we will be reading will include:
“Let it Fall” by Maryann Cocca-Leffler
“Apples and Pumpkins” by Anne Rockwell and Lizzy Rockwell
“My Leaf Book” by Monica Wellington
“The Fox and the Falling Leaves” by Julia Rawlinson and Tiphanie Beeke
Do you have a Scholastic book order? Please get it to me ASAP. If you prefer to order online, our classroom code is KP44F.
Mark your calendars for Preschool Pumpkin Carving Night! Tuesday, October 24th we will gather in (and outside) the preschool to share a meal and carve up some fun! If you have not already, please sign up to help out with dinner. The sign-up sheet is on the parent board.
Shh…it’s a secret. The RHS tradition is that parents sneak in and decorate the preschool classroom for Halloween while we are out and about. On Tuesday the 24th (the same day as Pumpkin Carving Night) we are looking for a stealthy band of goblins to come in and spruce us up a bit! If you are interested, please contact Allison Kettlety –
Collecting Box Tops? GREAT! Please attach them to the sheets going home today and help up earn for our school.
