Next Week’s News! 12/9/16

Happy chilly Friday!

Have you looked into our playground? The old equipment is no more and the holes are ready for the new pieces! As a reminder, next week, while they are working, we will be in Perkins (Lower School) on Tuesday and Friday.
The books we will be reading next week will include:
“Olive, the other Reindeer” by J. Otto Seibold and Vivian Walsh
“The Little Christmas Tree” by R. A. Herman and Jaqueline Rogers
“Snowmen at Christmas” by Caralyn and Mark Buehner
“Simon and the Bear, a Hanukkah Tale” by Eric A. Kimmel and Matthew Trueman
“An Otis Christmas” by Loren Long
The entire school is having an ugly Christmas sweater day on Friday, December 16th. The preschool has opted to wear our favorite Christmas PJs instead!
Our Holiday Party will be on Friday, December 16th at 9:30 a.m. We will be in Perkins and will exchange gifts and then share some yummy treats. There is a sign-up sheet on the parent board, if you would like to contribute to the party.
With the exception of Friday, we have a normal Virtuoso schedule next week:
Monday is PE with Mrs. Wood (sneakers!).
Tuesday Senora visits us for Spanish.
Wednesday we go to see Mr. Wyzga for Science and Miss Emily for Music.
Thursday is our Library day with Mrs. Silva.
A huge THANK YOU goes out to all who have contributed to our charities this holiday season. Next week is the last call for items for The Potter League. I encourage you to visit The Potter League in Middletown over break. They are very kid friendly and it’s so nice to spread the holiday love to our 4-legged friends.
As a reminder, please do not bring toys from home other than nap time snuggly toys. Miss Amanda and I just can’t compete with Elsa and Lightening McQueen, let alone Darth Vader!
Classroom Helpers:
Monday – Hannah
Tuesday – Alexandra
Wednesday – Ellie
Thursday – Praneeth
Friday – Elliott
Over break, I invite you to take your child’s extra clothes home and replenish their bag. Make sure that when you bring it back, everything fits and it is a complete set of clothing.
On Friday, December 16th, following our party, we will head off to our all school Winter Solstice celebration where we will present our wish for the world. School will be dismissed immediately after this celebration, around 11:30.
Have a wonderful weekend and we’ll see you on Monday!

Thank you to all who have contributed to our Giving Tree. All of the wonderful things you have brought in will be so helpful to The Potter League! There are more tags. Check it out!
