Next Week’s News! 1/18/2016
Hope you are all enjoying the snow and this beautiful day. Just a few things before we kick off the school week.
We begin our study of polar habitats this week. The books we will be reading will include:
“Animals in Winter”, “Polar Bears”, “Penguins” by Melvin and Gilda Berger
“The Wonderful World of Seals and Whales” by Sandra Lee Crow
“The Emperor’s Egg” by Martin Jenkins and Jane Chapman
If your child has a stuffed arctic animal and would like to bring it to school, that would be great. We will set up a display of Polar Bears, Penguins, Seals, Whales, etc.
Welcome home Zoe! We hope you had fun in Disney World!
Please remember mittens! We love to play outside, but little fingers get so cold so quickly! Also, as cold as it’s going to be, snow pants are also a must.
Our Virtuoso schedule is
Tuesday: Spanish, Art
Wednesday: Music, Science
Thursday: Library (don’t forget your library book)
Friday: Music
We will begin “Clue Bags” this week. When it is your child’s turn to bring a Clue Bag home, help them pick out something to put in it (like a show-n-tell). Then help them write 3 clues about the object in the bag. I will help them read the clues to their classmates and see if their friends can guess what’s in the Clue Bag. Please send your bag back right away so that each child gets as many chances as possible.
Our January family event is our second annual preschool potluck dinner. Mark your calendar for Monday, January 25th from 5:30-7:00. Adults will gather in the Campbell Conference Room and enjoy a meal together. Please bring something from your ethnic background to share. While we are enjoying an adult night, your children are invited to wear their PJs and have pajama and moving night in the preschool. Look for sign up sheets this week.
